QuickBooks Online Ledger is the most affordable version of QuickBooks ($10/month), designed for simple bookkeeping needs. It allows you to record transactions, categorize income and expenses, and reconcile your accounts — but it doesn’t include invoicing, bill pay, or advanced tracking features.
This plan is available exclusively through QuickBooks ProAdvisors, so you won’t see it listed on the public QuickBooks website. Your organization will still have full access to your QuickBooks file, just like with any other plan — the only difference is that it’s managed under my ProAdvisor’s account.
It’s a great option for small nonprofits that need accurate, compliant books without paying for features they don’t use.
It depends on how many months (or years) of data need attention and the current state of your books. After a quick review, I’ll give you a clear timeline before we begin.
The early steps move quickly — I can usually file your state incorporation and EIN within 1 business day. Once your Form 1023-EZ is submitted to the IRS, you’ll be allowed to receive charitable donations while approval is pending.
IRS approval typically takes 6–9 months, and once that comes through, I’ll help you file for Colorado state tax exemption to complete your nonprofit’s registration process.
If your financials have been finalized, most of my 990-EZ filings are completed within 7–10 business days.
Most one-time projects are billed upfront before work begins. For larger projects (like formation or multi-month cleanups), a 50% deposit may be accepted, with the balance due upon completion.
Most communication happens by email so there’s a written record of everything, but we can schedule short check-in calls as needed. You’ll also have a shared drive for uploading and reviewing documents.
